This webinar will give an overview how energy modeling can be used to develop strategies for BEPS compliance. We will demonstrate how to evaluate the impact of potential energy efficiency measures on existing buildings energy performance. This seminar will focus on the building analysis workflow, including minimum standards and quality control. We will discuss how to identify and package energy efficiency measures into energy efficiency scenarios, and use the subsequent analysis as a basis for developing comprehensive energy efficiency improvement roadmaps. We will use real-world project examples to discuss best practice and share lessons learned. While the energy modeling approach described is software-independent, the course will demonstrate the analytical process using RETScreen® Expert software.
Prerequisites: Fundamental understanding of building energy efficiency (e.g. Building Science seminar) and BEPS requirements.
Special Instructions: Download RETS modeling software before training (found on RETScreen (nrcan.gc.ca)) which is freely available for public use.
All training and certification courses are offered at no cost to participants on a first come, first serve basis. Due to the time commitment for this course, registrants will only be allowed to signup for this course if they are not registered for any other courses through the DCSEU that present a time conflict (unless that course is self-paced). This program is designed to expand the local green workforce and local business opportunities.
