Welcome to The Green Table Talk

My name is Yolanda Bonner and I’m the Hub’s Associate Director of Building Performance. Since I got here, my goal has been to engage building owners and the business community in honest conversations about DC’s Building Energy Performance Standards, and in how to improve their buildings as we move toward a more sustainable future. I’ve talked to a lot of building owners and real estate professionals, and I know compliance can be challenging, particularly for small- and medium-size building owners.

Many larger commercial buildings are run by real estate firms with staff who specialize in understanding the complexities of building renovations and legal requirements, but this is not the case for buildings in the range of 10,000-25,000 square feet. The Hub runs a Success with BEPS program for many of these buildings, but I wanted to do more. I decided, with my Hub colleagues, to create a casual forum where anyone in the DC real estate community would feel free to ask questions, share their experiences and get help on the issues facing their buildings.
