Commissioned buildings provide greater occupant satisfaction, increased building lifecycle durability, improved energy efficiency, and lower operating costs. The District of Columbia has incorporated new commissioning requirements into the 2017 District of Columbia Energy Conservation Code—Commercial Provisions. This guide offers an overview of commissioning, the roles each project team member plays in the process, and a breakdown of how to comply with District requirements.
