In the District of Columbia, changing building codes and regulations require real estate owners to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings. This is creating high demand for building service providers like energy auditors, data verifiers, contractors, and related trades. To ensure all residents can benefit from these new and growing jobs, the District Department of Energy and Environment teamed up with the Building Innovation Hub and Julius Education to develop a green buildings career map for the DC region.
The map will show the types of available jobs and what’s needed to qualify for them. It is built to serve local educators, career advisors, job seekers, employers, and workforce professionals. It will also connect jobseekers to local educational and training opportunities, support services, and financial aid programs.
This session will showcase the Capitol Region Green Buildings Career Map and reserve time for the audience to ask questions and share ideas on how to improve it and make the community aware of this free tool.
